I was checking out some more domain name sales and came across this two-letter dot com AV.com which appears to have been sold in an all-cash transaction on 15 July 2021 for £3.013,000M GBP which based on the USD at the time of 1.3863 approx $4,176,922, the domain name was acquired by Gear4music (Holdings) PLC who trades as G4M on UK Stock Exchange.
In the below snip taken from the filing last year (link) you can see the domain name acquisition for £3.013,000 M – GBP.
This additional article below shows the separate sale of the domain name (link).
AV.com was once owned by Yahoo Inc, which sold the domain name in 2015, according to a post shared by Jamie Zoch via TheDomains.com the sale price wasn’t revealed at the time but the new owner was named Jack Shen from Shanghai, China.
We can actually see in the archive.org link from 2021 the coming soon page noted below and only a few months later the domain name was acquired.
I don’t recall seeing the sale published elsewhere and had a quick google and Twitter search from the usual sale resources but nothing came to light, I did discover a local post over here in Lancashire that touched on the domain sale as well as the separate business unit they acquired too around the same time.
Hopefully, this can be charted in NameBio.com and DNJournal.com once verified by both sources and put this two-letter domain name sale out into the public domain.
Great find, well done Robbie
Thanks James.
