Aeroflot which is a major air carrier in Russia has won the domain name aeroflot.xxx after filing a suit World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center.
The domain name WIPO comes after registrant Koba Gigineshvili purchased the domain name aeroflot.xxx and has made the following statement that he plans to appeal the decision as there is no hardcore adult content on the aeroflot.xxx domain, only videos and pictures of planes and women wearing bikinis. Koba Gigineshvili assured aeroflot, that he is not going to post any pornographic material there.
This doesn’t matter though as he lost the WIPO and the domain has now been transferred over to Aeroflot but for some reason the new owner hasn’t changed the DNS yet and it still points to hostgator servers showing the old site. – See Here
Aeroflot operate on their current domain aeroflot.com and aeroflot.ru – The company was founded in 1923 and is 51% owned by the Russian government with a fleet size of 122 planes.
