So we are now entering week 3 of the school shutdown and the UK lockdown and I am sure like me you are now trying to find ways to keep your children amused during the school shutdown, what we need to remember though this is for their safety, while children are deemed low risk, it is vitally important that we follow the government guidelines and keep our children at home where possible.
So what can you do to keep your child amused during the school shutdown and UK lockdown, this, of course, will depend on the age of your child with some parent finding it easier to deal with older children who typically want to stay in their bedroom and hide away playing video games or making videos for YouTube & TikTok others with younger children are looking at ways to create activities to allow there children to be occupied for a period of time on a particular task.
School Shutdown Part 1 – Colouring In
We think in the first instance you should look at the simple things Colouring In, yes I know some are thinking really…? Well, you would be amazed at how depending on the age of your children they can really focus and want to do colouring in, here is a list of website below that we have found to have some great drawings for you to print in black and white and allow your children to colour these drawings in.

Now you have the links to the colouring in pages, you probably need to think about, do I have a home printer and then the dreaded …”I’m running low on printer ink” well don’t worry – Amazon delivers and while they are prioritising certain items, we have found they are still getting most items out quickly, In our home, we use the HP Officejet 6700 Premium printer and really is one that has never let us down, the replacement model of this is the HP6950 and you can get on Amazon.co.uk for around £120.00 and a great investment if you are looking for a new home printer.
This is part 1 of my tips to keep your children amused during the School shutdown, Colouring in, finding a home printer and getting ink from Amazon, we hope you found it useful and please feel free to share this post with anyone you know and don’t forget to follow us too on Twitter & Facebook, if you want us to write about a particular topic or if you feel you want to publish posts on online but don’t know how then contact me here to learn how we can help you.
