So we spoke about the domain name AirPlay.com expiring and being auctioned off on our weekend post, at that time bidding was $189,000 USD and I made a prediction it would break the $200K barrier well looks my prediction just scrapped over the line with the expired domain name selling for $202,000 USD.
This is a huge expired auction sale and a nice payday for GoDaddy, I hope one of my fellow domain bloggers had the buyer click on the link to earn a nice commission payday, it certainly wasn’t one that I managed to secure, looking at my affiliate stats.
Why did AirPlay.com sell for six figures?
Once owned by AirPlay Commercial, the domain name went into privacy around 2015 and has been at Frank Schilling’s former registry UniRegistry.com which was acquired by GoDaddy a few years ago, AirPlay is a feature also designed for Apple Inc devices so will be interesting to watch and see whom the buyer is if it’s revealed in the future, could it have been Apple Inc?
So could there be another Six Figure sale in today’s list of expired domain name auctions at GoDaddy?
