The Italian ticket service TicketSms which operates on TicketSMS.it has lost there WIPO dispute against the owner of TicketSMS.com & TicketSMS.net
The WIPO case D2023-0442 has been denied by a single panelist Assen Alexiev.
TicketSMS.it has been registered since 2015 and appears to offer a digital ticket service for events to 600,000 Clients but looks like they weren’t prepared to pay to acquire the matching dot com and dot net domain names which have been registered since 2009.
The details of the case are yet to be published and I suspect will come out in the coming days but congratulations to the domain name owner Franklin Iziren on protecting your domain names from TicketSms s.r.l. / Mr. Andrea Vitali who brought this case against you, It’s one that in my opinion should be found as a case of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking (RDNH) do you agree?
I totally agree
100%.
WIPO made the right decision.
This case should’ve never gone to court.
Ticketsms.it tried to scam a perfectly innocent domain name owner.
A decent, trustworthy and professional company, would’ve made an offer, rather than come unstuck with this bad publicity.
I suspect that the company will be no longer within 5 to 10 years.
Great to hear that Franklin Iziren successfully defended the domains against TicketSMS.it. It’s disappointing to see TicketSMS.it’s actions and conduct in this matter.
Kudos to Franklin Iziren for standing up for his rights. It’s important to recognise and support individuals who uphold fairness and integrity in domain disputes. Thank you for sharing this update.
