Sedo.com today, leading online domain marketplace and monetization provider Sedo announced the launch of an improved price suggestion tool, the Big Data Pricer. Using similar methodology to domain pricing index IDNX, the Big Data Pricer provides Sedo users with improved, fair market price suggestions for their domains.
“Estimating a fair market price for a domain is as much an art as it is a science,” said Thies Lindenthal, Sedo’s Product Manager for Pricing. “Providing good valuations depends on massive data sets, which Sedo has thanks to more than 11 years as the leading domain marketplace. We have been working hard to get the number crunching side of domain trading straight, using this data and new, scientifically-tested algorithms to build a better pricing tool.”
As the name indicates, Sedo’s Big Data Pricer depends on proprietary market data from more than 300,000 real transactions that have taken place on Sedo’s marketplace. Superior price suggestions make it easier than ever to set Buy Now prices on domain names listed with Sedo, which are the most frequently sold type of listing. Big Data Pricer price suggestions also help sellers find the sweet spot at which domains sell fast while generating optimal return for the investor.
“Our price suggestions put both buyers and sellers in an ideal position to strike the perfect deal,” Lindenthal added. “We provide a valuation based on solid data, and from there, both parties can continue negotiations with all the necessary information at their fingertips.”
Suggestions from the Big Data Pricer are currently available when users list domains in their account, or from the Domain Management section of their account.
If you have comments or feedback on the Big Data Pricer, Thies Lindenthal, the product manager behind these improvements, will be available tomorrow at Google Hangout starting at 11am Eastern Time. To join the conversation, go to: http://www.idnx.com/hangout/
